5 Cool Things: Artists Are Cool · Craftwhack

I want to spotlight something I don't usually share hither, and that's people making their own art. As we all know, people who brand art are amongst the nigh fantastic people roaming the earth, so allow's look at 5 of them I have discovered lately, and you can tell me if you like/hate/don't care abut their art.

I remember hearing this for the first time in fine art school, that you should always take it as a good sign if you can stir up any sort of emotion in people via your artwork- whether it be positive or negative. The kiss of death is when people are indifferent to your piece of work, thereby rendering it irksome as all hell.

Unfortunately, some artists take this a little far and artistic sensationalist art with admittedly no meaning to them, only what the hey diddly-o. At to the lowest degree they're making something instead of eating cheeze puffs and smoking weed. Unless they're doing that while making their make of crazy art.

Anyhow, information technology'southward not like me to digress, correct?

Hither's some fine art:

Daria Tessler art i. Daria Tessler – I but discovered her on the Chicago Ane of a Kind evidence spider web page. This sealed the bargain for me going to this evidence. For some bizarre reason, I've never been, but I am going to get this year, and I might merely pull up a chair and stare at Daria the entire weekend, willing her to be my friend. Her site is Animal Sleep and it is superb.

2. Liv Rainey-Smith – I honey the dark, mysterious look of woodcut prints, especially when the subject field matter is a bit nighttime and mysterious. These prints past Liv Rainey-Smith are inspired past H.P. Lovecraft and 15th century art. The artist states that, "No deities, forbidden tomes, or dreamers were harmed in the making of this art."

iii. YUM. YUM. YUM. Encaustic art is so rich and layery and dreamy. Daniella Woolf is an artist I just swoon over, and I dream of traveling to Canada to take one of her workshops. By stalking her site, I also discovered that she designed some stencils to sell through this site, and but go on and look at all the astonishing stencils designed by artists, OMG!

v. Zarina Hashmi- I'g a sucker for simple, graphic prints, and these fit the bill nicely. This is when I wish I had tens of thousands of dollars to spend on art, ya dig?
